1) Is PLEY an alternative school ?
No, we are not an alternative school. In the context of the rigorous Indian academic system, many alternative schools have emerged that follow a more open ended approach to child development. EYFS is the mainstream early years system in the UK and aims to strike a balance between open ended and structured development. 

2) Is it necessary that my child has to enroll in an international school after finishing in PLEY?
You are at liberty to enroll your child in any medium of school after finishing with PLEY. We offer a solid foundation for your child in the early stages of development and the child is well prepared to move on to the next level. 

3) Will my child be able to read and write at the end of Upper Kindergarten?
Maths and Literacy are vital components of the EYFS program and the child is expected to gain a standard level of proficiency in these areas. 

4) What is the role of parents in the progress of the child's development in this setting?
We are committed to providing the best possible care and education opportunities to your child and in order to achieve this we work hard on building parents in partnership, involving you in the activities and care of your child. The rich and personalised experiences that each child obtains within the home both with the parents and the family, assists us in enhancing each child’s development and opportunities whilst at nursery as this information enables us to offer tailored learning experiences to each child individually. Parents and families are central to a child’s wellbeing and by working alongside parents we can ensure that each child settles well, establishes a new routine and builds and forms positive and strong bonds and relationships with set staff and children within the setting.

5) What is the importance laid out to exercise and outdoor play?
Outdoor areas are considered to be of equal importance as indoor areas to the children and the curriculum that they are offered, the only difference in the two being the surroundings and their immediate environment. We ensure that all children are frequently offered quality exercise and outdoor time where they engage in both planned and spontaneous play opportunities that are enjoyable and challenging to promote and support their learning and development.

6) What is the approach to toilet training?
We believe that toilet training is an important part of a child's well being and the manner in which this is carried out in the setting has an impact on the child's morale. This aspect will be given its due attention and will be handled delicately and with utmost care. 

7) What is the approach on correcting child behavior?
Children are treated as little adults where there is an enquiry based approach to reflect on their own behavior. Deviant behavior will be addressed directly with the child and will not be ignored. There is no room for rudeness or sternness or instruction through fear in this setting as we believe this does not add any value to children's development.

8) How is the child's development monitored ?
A child development record will be maintained and will be discussed with parents at the end of every term. 

9) Can I ring the nursery throughout the day?
You can call the nursery as many times as you want to until you feel happy, we will put you through to your child’s key worker who is looking after him or her and they will tell you how they are doing. 

10) Will food be served in the nursery?
Parents have to send food along with their children (no junk food).
